Governance and Public Policy

FES has been engaged since 2014 in promoting good governance and social policies which will improve the living conditions of the people of Myanmar. FES has conducted activities which provide awareness trainings, information seminars and workshops for policy makers and has focussed on mechanisms of social protection. FES engages with the Ministry of Social Welfare and the relevant parliamentary committees to raise the understanding of how a modern state should address the needs and problems of the least protected parts of its population.

The main objective is to provide awareness of social protection floors by all stakeholders and create public platforms to discuss social protection between parliamentarians, government and civil society. Furthermore, we aim to provide linkages between Myanmar entities with their international counterparts focusing on social protection issues. This includes seminars and workshops which improve the running and implementing of day-to-day government programmes by creating awareness and efficiency.
