FES strives to promote inclusivity and participation in the democratic reform process. This is done through creating platforms for representatives from the government, parliament, civil society and ethnic minorities to discuss and come up with practical proposals for the federalization of Myanmar. The objective of FES in that field is to create awareness workshops on relevant topics and issues relating to federalism and promote exchange visits and study missions to learn about the best practices of federalism from Germany and other countries.
In addition to that, we facilitate exchanges between political parties and promote social democracy with other political institutions abroad and create forums where the public and government can engage to discuss and find common understanding on policy issues affecting daily lives of Myanmar citizens.
